Italian Tuna Roe (Tuna Eggs)

Ancient Phoenicians already knew and traded in the whole mediterranean area this delicious and tasty food. The tradition of such delicacy has been passed on to the present time and to our current culinary tradition.

Obtained from the drying and salting of red tuna eggs, the tuna roe has always been considered a delicacy and a rare food destined to few people.

The tuna roe is excellent as an appetizer on canapés and croutons with some butter and small tomatoes or grated on hot dishes made with seafood or shellfish. The tuna roe can also be used to flavour salads or vegetable purées.

A must-have if you like your pasta with of umami!
